cx models?

sorry for posting another thread again
but just curious about the cx charvels, ive seen a couple around and always thought they looked a little cheap but never played one or anything
they seem togo pretty cheap too, ive seen a cx 291 for around £100, it has the stratshape head before that whole lawsuit busines whatever happened there
what do people think of these?

They are ok players with their main appeal being that they are really cheap. They tend to have lousy hardware and electronics but the necks are very nice. If you can find one cheap enough that has the trem type that you like (floyd,v-trem, etc) then it might be worthwile to throw some nice pups and keep it as a player. I have 2 of them. Neither have the real strathead but the cutout ball end or beak looking thing. One has a lopro floyd copy trem and the other has a cheapo wb-2 trem. The necks on both are nice, very much like the model series necks. Resale is lousy so dont expect to put nice stuff into it and then sell it for a profit, its not gonna happen. Id jump on that strathead if its cheap and the frets are ok.
