Charvel model 3 value?

Hi, im considering to buying a red Charvel Model 3.
Seller says its completely original with the JT-6 bridge (is it a good trem?) and the J90C and J100s in pretty much next to mint condition. Price is 2500 kr, which converted will be 320 USD. Is this a nice price? Also, i might add that prices are generally higher here in sweden, so maybe the more appropriate US price would be 250 USD.

What im wanting is a nice 80s metal guitar (thrash, brittish metal). Am i way off?

What do you think? This would actually be my first guitar with a trem..

Get a jackson! Charvels have real good tone, but the model 3 would need alot of upgrading to be a thrasher....But the price is right.

A model 3 doesn't need upgrading. As long as the trem is stable and you like the sound of the pups. The J90C is one of my favorite pups. Infact i just put one in my Les Paul. Sounds great. If ya can get it for an even 300, that would be better. But 320 isnt bad. does it have a case or anything? The JT6 trem is a good trem. Has a unique tone and is very easy to use. Altho a OFR will be a retro fit with no mods if you so desire. I had a model 3 and it was a great guitar. Im still kicking myself for gettin rid of it.

It's an awesome trem design, very cleverly engineered, but it's made out of a REALLY soft alloy. It doesn't affect the knife edge insert which is made of a harder metal but the baseplate, saddles and such are so soft that it's very easy to strip threads and cause other carnage.

Love the pop-in arm, rear tuners, etc. but very cheaply made.

Well if you re-read my post. I siad it doesnt need upgrades IMO. How ever i offered the upgrade info just in case the trem has issues or something. And even if a guitar comes with the best sounding pups klnown to man to one person doesnt mean the next will like them. And yes a Model 3 can be as much a metal monster as a Jackson. If you feel you cant play metal on a Model 3 then your the type contributing to the "style nomenclature" to guitars. (ie you can only platy metal on Jackson and ESP's and can only play blues on a strat. Cuz we all know thats a crock of elephant doo doo. Yo can play any style of music on any type of guitar. Some just do it beter than others. A Model 3 can be and is as much a shred metal monster as a Soloist or a Kelly. Have an open mind.

well the limited amount of sustain from a JT-6 equipped model 3 is all in my head then! Yes you can play anything on anything........But regaurdless of talent some equiment has limits.Sorry I own no Jacksons at this time,So this is not me putting Jacksons on a pedestal..Just telling it like it is! O, if make or model does not matter why are you here???

John how can you say that these are not for 80's metal. That's what the model series is all about(except for the 1A those original single coil pickups sucked). Who needs sustain when you are playing 16th notes.

Hey they are good for 80's anything! Thats not what i was trying to say! I just think that thrashing metal might be better with a jackson. Oh fuggen forget it, They are very good guitars and well suited for 80's music...

John I'm here because of my passion for guitars especially Jackson/Charvel. How ever i do have other guitars. such as Dean, Gibson, Fender, Kramer, parts mutts, Epiphones. Etc. all can play metal or blues or jazz or what ever. Hell i've seen clips of hard core bands playin hollow bodies. I just wish people would get out of the mentality of a specific guitar for a specific style of music. Yngwie plays metal on a strat very well as does Dave Murry just sayin.
