  • Model 6 Quesitons

I came across a model 6, and it plays great.
It has the stock pickups and midboost thing.
My question is, are these guitars supposed to have a nasaly twang to it, even with the bridge pickup?

When i pick hard on metal chords, even unplugged, it has this twang to it, which carries over even with pushed mids in an amp.

Are they supposed to sound this way? Would a thicker trem block help alleviate this tone issue?

Also, i saw someone post a picture of a string-thru non trem model 6. Was that custom? or were some made with a fixed bridge.

    Thanks.

    play with that mid-boost.
start at 0, then, when the amp is tweaked and fur is right, dial in just enough mid-boost to make it rawk.

most peeps turn it up to 11 right off the bat

    that no workie

"Wow,... that was some of the hardest rockin ever. Hardest to listen too."

Earlier models came with the Kahler trem, later had the JT6 Floyd copy, but none were ever string-thru.
