  • jT6 lock nut question

Hey all, new here and a first question. I just picked up an awesome near mint Model 3a in pearl white. Its only issue is the lock nut is stripped. I see the lock nuts for the Khaler sold on guitap parts resources appear to be the same unit as the original except for allen head screws rather then flat head. Can anyone confirm this? thanks

    See the very last nut

The mounting screw holes may not match up exactly with the JT-6. Here are 2 threads, each with some people who have had them match up and some that didn't match up, and all of whom know their stuff:

Very weird... I wonder if maybe the Kahler locks changed at some point? It should be pretty easy to dowel with toothpicks & re-drill for the new one if it turns out to be necessary, though.

I suggest you get the screws from Dave, he's a member here (Budman) and they are a direct fit, and cheaper in price!

I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

FYI, Dave said these came with either a smooth lock nut or a grainy lock nut. It depends on which nut you have, as to wether or not the Kahler will be a direct fit. Turns out I have the grainy lock nut so I just ordered the plates from him. He is extrememly well informed on this stuff!!!
