I just scored my first crackle, which takes me a total of 7 model series, and 3 model 3DRs. It seems greedy but just how many is too many?

Generally, two more at the same time is too many. As long as you keep it to +1 you shouldn't have a problem.
I would say though, if you have that many of a certain series, you should try to complete the set - you know, one of each.-------------------------

I am in the UK so to have this many is rare.. I had a model 2 but do not find the pup configuration useable..
Currently I have
2 x model 1a black (1 is fitted with synth pickup and a stacked hum)
1 x model 1c sparkle blue
3 x 3dr (burgundy mist, sparkle blue, orange crackle)
1 x model 4m (sparkle red)
I had a blue model 2.
The US models are too expensive, and these Japanese classics are unmatchable at this price.Comment

there is no such thing as too many when the G.A.S to money availability ratio is well balanced
as far as Jap Charvel's I have 11 of them.
and only 1 Jackson

these are all basses, and not near the money value as a lot of the guitar counterparts, but the topic is about how many, not value.

How many is too many? How many you have + 2.... That way there is always room for one more...Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

Too many is when you can't pay your "real" bills because of what you spent on guitars. As long as you can pay the rent, utilities, car, insurance, etc. and suffer no check return fees or late fees....then you haven't bought too many yet.
When you have to "sell something" in order to pay the car payment..then you have "too many".
That's what I tell the wife anyway.Why the hell doesn't Eddie pick up a goddamned guitar and play something?
