It made it. Its in better shape than expected.. $100.00 delivered to my shop. Guy drove over an hour to accommodate me. Too cool.

I love the neck on this thing.
I have more than a enough single coil guitars laying around that never get played so I yanked the J100's, pickguard and all, and cut a new single hum white pickguard and threw an old Paf style (8.3 k) in it and gave it a a good setup.
Really sweet axe.. Glad I didn't let this one get by.

How's the maple pg? I've made pickguards from wood before for customers but they always sound "ringy" to me.

Plastic, wood, metal, bakelite all ring different. Its more obvious with some guitars than others. If it has a big swimming pool route it can make it sound chambered.

it's a really thin veneer backed by what looks like clear acrylic. I haven't noticed any great impact on tone. Sure looks purty though
