3dr locking nut?

it has a kahler nut with a jt6 trem is this right?

I'm pretty sure that different people have said theirs had different locking systems. Some have said theirs came with the regular JT-6 behind-the-nut lock, and others had an actual locknut installed. They were made in late '88 during a transitional period for the company, as the Model series was coming to an end and they were gearing up for the toothpaste-logo models, so occasionally some weird things happened.

wow, some did and some did not right? yea this guitar is fire cracle in brand new ,unplayed shape and same goes with the case. none whatsoever is the brass latches discolored.took a chance and got it off ebay from a pawn shop type seller with no guitar items on his feed back,said it was a gem and it is! pics of all my j/c guitars will be up soon as i can figer it out

My 3dr has a kahler nut also, not the string lock but an actual kahler brand floyd type locknut. Its a good unit, same as on my HM strat.

If it has a regular phenolic nutand a string lock behin it. It should be a Kahler lock. Although some did have the JT6 but as stated.

I had a 3dr which I sold with a similar Kahler-made Floyd style nut. What was neat about it was it had a built in string retainer on the tuner side.

I've got one of each 3DR. One has the standard behind-the-nut lock and another with the Kahler Locking Nut.
