Please help ID my Charvel- MIJ

Hi, new to the forum, looks like a great place. I play Robins, MIJ ESP's and 80's Kramers and starting to get back into Charvels after many years- I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what model Charvel this is, just got it off eBay. listed as a MIJ 1986 4M, but probably not entirely original..has orig. model 2 body 4m neck and not an 86 and yes the floyd is aftermarket. Nice guitar!

either 87 or 88 for the body. 86 had the kahler fulcrum so the floyd wouldn't fit.

deff a model 2 body. The neck could be either a model 1 neck with the string lock added after it was swapped Or a Model 4M neck. Either it looks sweet. and in good shape.

Thanks for all the info and input, that's really cool and really appreciated. Yeah, I was inclined to believe it was a 4M neck, but was somewhat stumped on the body, the OFR threw me, and also the Kahler nut on top. I'll probably drop a Seymour JB in there, not sure how those stock Jackson hum pups sound, should be a sweet axe..thanks again

hey Rich#6, yeah, I'll definitely check out the Hum and decide if I want to drop in the JB..also, can you tell by looking at the Floyd if it takes the push-in or screw-in type bar? seller said no trem bar included, so I would like to know which one to order, seller hasn't responded as to which...looks like the push-in type? thanks again

I think you meant "screw in" not push in. It appears to be the older screw in style Floyd.

Actually I meant either between the old school metric thread screw-in type or the "newer" version with screw-on bushing attached the trem bar at bottom...you think it's the old school metric? I can also just wait until I get the guitar and then order the bar, but it would be nice to have it ready...thanks again

You can order a replacement bar and bushing for $11 I think at stew-mac.com. It comes with the replacemnt bushing and trem bar. Everything you need for the retrofit.

DonP, thanks alot for the suggestion, that's actually a great idea..But as a matter of fact I just received word from the seller that he found the trem bar for it and will ship with the guitar, which is good news- thanks again!
