  • Original SL4 Pricing and Information

I've been scouring the 'net for information and should have come directly here. What was I thinking?

I'm looking at buying a Jackson SL4 in great condition with original case for $649. That seems like a great price for an MIJ Neck-Thru Jackson, but I've been seeing past internet sales for as low as $400.

This model doesn't have the JT580 bridge. This bridge looks a bit nicer (I have the 580 on an older Fusion and don't care for it).

Any insight on these guitars and their value? Is that too high a price? What did they originally go for?

    Thanks!

The SL4 came with the JT580LP bridge. Did someone swap it out for something else? $649 with case doesn't sound too bad, since you would have to pay extra for the case for the imports, but it still could be had for a little less. Can't remember what they went for new, but probably more than that. http://audiozone.dk/cm/displayimage.php?album=51&pos=4

I don't know if the bridge has been swapped out, but I kind of doubt it. I read somewhere that some SL4's had better bridges. Otherwise, this guitar is a mystery. Can't seem to find a lot of information.

I saw that catalog scan before, but there is incorrect information. The bridge is different, of course, but also, it has 22 frets and not the 24 that the catalog lists it at.

i got one when they came out. i paid 900$ even for it new. case was 100$. i sold it for 650 after i had 2 emg's installed. i needed cash otherwise i would have kept it. it had the jt580 chrome tremelo. it was a real sweet guitar.

The SL4 only came with the JT580lp bridge. If it doesn't have that trem it's been swapped.
