My buddy has had this guitar since 2000sh and I would like to know the model and relative value as I think he wants to get rid of it. Thanks in advance.

Your "buddy", eh?
This is a 1996 or 97 PS3T, Made in Japan. The Performer line was on the low end. Body is poplar. Here's a catalog scan, disregard the 24 frets in the pic. http://audiozone.dk/cm/displayimage....569&fullsize=1
Worth around $150-200, see ya in the Classifieds!"Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

BTW the 96 in the serial number does not denote the year, Japanese bolt-ons started with 96xxxxx serial numbers in 1996 and they were sequential from then. ie, a 969xxxx serial is from around 2003."Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

Thanks for the info. I was being serious man it is a friend of mine who owns the guitar. He just bought himself a DK2 and really doesn't play the Rhoads anymore and wanted to know what it was worth and what it even was. Again thanks for the info. I'll have to figure out I guess if the SD Distortion gives it anymore value. It has an OHSC with it as well.1997 Dark Candy Red SL1

He bought new from a local music store and I know he doesn't have the imagination to track down a different neck and change it out.1997 Dark Candy Red SL1
