  • KE3 Bound or not?

    Hi folks!

I've been considering a post-Christmas present to myself of either a DK2, or KE3. My problem is that I've fallen in love with the bound neck/headstock of the DK2 but can't find any KE3s with the binding at any retailers nearby. I'm confused, as the Jackson specs for the KE3 state bound fingerboard and headstock.

Am I missing something obvious, or are the site specs incorrect?

    Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. The KE3 is not bound. The spec sheet is incorrect... wouldn't be the first time somebody at Jackson's done that.

Yep, TJ is correct. The Jackson spec sheets are littered with errors.

That answers that one for me. Thanks!

Shame though - a KE3 w/bound neck would be killer without having to resort to re-fitting a DK2 one. Ah well...

I like how they still say the Mark Morton model has the "Schaller 456 Fully Adjustable Bridge with Anchored Tailpiece". The 456 is a bigger bridge with finetuners, and the Morton has just a regular TOM with stoptail. <sigh> Will Jackson ever get their catalog and web specs right?

            I put a DK1 neck on my KE3 body. It's smokin'
