  • That would be great. I think the RR1 is a 1990 but that is the only one I've ever looked up. The others I have no idea about. The PS-4 is my first guitar as an adult.

I have never taken the neck off of any of my guitars. I am fixing to restore the JSX as it was abused in a previous life by an idiot. I will look in the neck pocket out of curiosity even though its not one you are much interested in. Thanks.

    • There are some oddballs that don't follow the pattern, but unless you have one of those oddballs, here you are...
      Jackson DK2M- 9787526...2006-07, Japan
      Jackson RR1- U00521...1990
      Jackson DKMG- 9855348...2011, Japan
      Jackson Dinky Std.- 303283...1993, Japan
      Jackson PS-4- 1045693...mid '90s or so, Korea
Jackson ATL Scott Ian- CSJ1200112...2012, China
      Jackson JSX Concept- 9300439...1993, Japan
      Jackson Kelly KE3- 9719210...2004ish, Japan
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

            • Sure looks like a Kelly Standard... but it's got two extra knobs added to it. They only came with a volume control and selector switch.

              • Looks like a modified Kelly Std and I believe that number is for '95-'96ish, but I haven't seen anything to confirm that. They switched from 6 digit date coded numbers to the 7 digit 96xxxxx format in '96 and the J00xxxx numbers seem to appear on mid 90's models around that transition period. The Standard was introduced in 1993, so '90 is out of the question. J00xxxx is 1990 on some models, but not the Kelly Std.

                      • Hey! Been lurking around here for a while and decided I'd join after I bought another Jackson.

Here's the serials for what I've got. I think the second one might be a bit weird?

                        KVX10: 01050124
KV2 (the Japan one, bought in late 1997): 701950
                        KVT: IWJ1300072

                        • Yeah, that is a strange one. I've only seen that format go as high as '96... 6xxxxx. Doesn't surprise me though, the mid 90's were a messy time for import serial numbers.
