Congratulations on the good work. I am sure your nephew is going to appreciate your time and effort when he sees the guitar and amp.

Cool gift, but get him some extra strings and teach him how to setup the floyd.

And Mazz, nothing wrong the JS30KE... I own one and use it regurlaly. I wanted a cheap fixed bridge Kelly and it does the job. I put a ToneZone (I had somewhere) in the bridge and some Planet Waves tuners.

Thanks to Newc, I have an Evo neck PU that I will put in the neck position.
        I know there isn't that's why I'm happy I'm getting it

Nice job, you can't argue with a DK2M for that price, and I'm sure that's a better starter guitar than just about everybody who's posting here had. I just hope that he realises how much effort you put into getting him a good guitar to learn on.
          I like maple fretboards. :P

Hey guys, thought you'd like to see this. here's a video of my nephew playing his guitar moments after opening it. I wasn't able to be there when he opened it so I had his parents record it for me.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

This put a huge smile on my face!

            Merry Christmas everyone!

just got some more vids - thought the last one was the only one they took.

                              Opening the guitar:

playing it for the first time:

opening the rest of the guitar related gifts. I LOL'd at the "shania twain" part in video. the shania twain book was a bit of a joke - I had it lying around my music room for years, didnt want to throw it away (figured it would be useful someday, but didnt want ever admit having it in my possession. =)

                              Merry christmas everyone!

Kids these days...you tell he is "totally digging it", back when I was his age I would have been like...WOW!!!!

Understated, he said "Thanks" a lot, which tells you...he is saying "WOW!!!!" inside.

Great stuff, glad it worked out!
