Yo, kc7, Mr. Import Serial Expert That sure looks like a Jackson Stealth to me, I don't think Fusions had that weird jack on top of the body. See http://audiozone.dk/cm/displayimage.php?album=62&pos=20

Roger, I keep saying I don't think it's a Fusion ... lol ... I only IDed that it might be a Fusion from his first post (pre-photo) because the serial number is a Fusion type serial number (which it is).

It doesn't look like a Fusion @ all, so the scale length will be the nail in the coffin either way (seriously, how hard is it to pull out a measuring tape and measure the nut to trem distance), 24.75" = Fusion / 25.5" = Stealth. I would be surprised if it was a Fusion, but it doesn't have a Stealth serial number (I've seen plenty of models that have wrong / off serials....you know how Jackson is with the serial number especially during series / model / year / location transitions....or maybe just on "bad" Mondays, etc.).

Look @ the photos...that really looks like an early Stealth EX (JT-580 trem, 22 frets with side dots, no scooped lower horn, front jack) that just happens to have a Fusion serial number (who knows why, if it's early enough maybe it's a prototype for the 1992 catalog that was made in 1991 and used Fusion serials before they made it normal production....it's hard to say...there are so many odd ball Jackson serials out there).

Some Fusions did have jacks on the front of the body, my 1990 Fusion IV bass does, and you can see two that do on page 13 of the 1991 catalog:

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

Hi guys! Thanks a lot for your input. To be honest I am a bit confused now but as you described Jackson has made it pretty difficult for all of us :-)

I paid 280 euros for the beuaty, does anybody now the street value of it, did I pay too much

It's a Stealth. Yes, the Fusion IV and V basses had the jack on top, but not the guitars.

280 Euros sounds like a bargain in Europe. They'd probably go for about $300 here in the States, depending on the condition and who was buying, and that's a bargain for a quality Jackson import.

              Thanks!

Did Jackson do PHOTOFLAME or can I expect the top of my beauty to be real wood? How could I find it out

As far as I know, Jackson used veneers for their tops. At least on the jap guitars.

Hmm. "STL" should mean "Stealth", and the following designation probably has to do with the model variant. However, I'm surprised there isn't any production dates stamped in there.

I have never seen a flamed Stealth before though...

First of all, not all Fusions had that "scoop" or scalloped lower horn. And plenty of Dinkies also do have that scallop. The guitar in question here is a Stealth, though.
