  • Early 90's Soloist Standard?

Hey guys, this guitar i saw for sale and i noticed at audiozone.dk while looking at the catalogs closely, all the standard series of Jackson by Grover Jackson during 1993 seemed to have MOTO inlays except the standard soloist which had MOP inlays, (yet priced the same as the other body shapes in its class)
is the MOP sharks really standard for all standard soloists? and did they have good trems?

That's hot. Don't know much about the Grover Jacksons sorry. Just wanted to comment on how nice it looks. You found that on digimart or something? The photos kinda look digimart-ish. Trem looks like a Jackson Schaller FR (correct me if I'm wrong. I can't see the logo) which is pretty good (have them on my 650XL and on my Horus).
    Guitars:
    Ibanez J-Custom RG8420ZD
    Ibanez S520EX
    Jackson DK2M

I think the sharkies were MOP until 96 and most had JT590/schaller trems until 95 also.

I saw that on U-box, it's only around 600 something USD.

If it says Grover Jackson or Jackson Stars on it, it was made in Japan for the Japanese market only.

Japan market equivalent of a Soloist XL with a different trem route?

It is so close to a Soloist XL (but with a pickup change) that that's what I thought it was. Rosewood with MOP, matching headstock, same trem, electronics layout. The only difference in it and my Soloist XL is the heel (Mine's carved. See picture below) and the trem route.

Man that's an old picture. My labrador's like two or three times bigger than that now.

And I don't think I have seen any MOTO on pre-1995 North American market Jacksons. It seems to me it was always either MOP sharkies or dots. But then again, I'm no supergenius when it comes to this stuff.

That's pretty sweet, looks almost like a Caparison TAT with an arm contour (this is probably where Itaru at Cap. made the TAT from). They have Jackson-branded Schaller trems which are just as good as any other Schaller trem.

                      VERY nice!

That would be even more awesome with a fixed bridge. That white matching headstock with binding is really one of my favourites. I wish Jackson would do more like those.

In effect, that's a Charvel 650xl with a Grover Jackson logo. The only difference I can see is that has bigger neck and middle pickup routs to accommodate Duncan or Dimarzio single-coils. Nice!

I would guess yes, if in good condition.
I would make the lack of a case a bargaining point.
