I remember when these could be had for $200 (w/o case) on ebay all day long 3 years ago. Is this including a case? Put in $100 worth of pickups and now it's $500? My math must be bad.

Yesterday's prices are not today's prices. Remember buying San Dimas Charvels from Ebay for $600 back around '98? Not many do. Remember 1990 neckthrough Pros going for $400-$500? Not many do. Remember when a new Gibson Les Paul Custom was $850?
Times change. Availability (or lack thereof) as well as whoever is willing to pay the seller's price determines the value, not what they went for 2 years ago.

Jackson is the King of the Sleeper Model - you couldn't give away a Performer or Concept model 5 years ago, now they're going for Charvel Model series prices, and Charvel Model series are going for Pro prices, and Pros are going for USA prices.
