    Or you could summon some courage and cleanly route off the few mm's of wood between you and a perfect bridge. The bridge is such a vital part of a jackson. Unless you block your licensed floyd, it's really worth whatever measures you take to install a higher quality unit

      You make it sound so easy...

      To do it right, the threaded inserts need to be pulled first... Then you can route the recess deeper. Then, either drill the original holes deeper, or plug them and drill for Floyd bushings. Then, finally, maybe some paint to make it look passable. It's not impossible, but it's not a 10-minute job, either.

      IMO it would be a bad idea to just route/trim the wood away around the bushings.
