I heard a rumor that the Jackson DK2M is being discontinued. This is by far the best MIJ Jackson, I have ever played (I've got 5 of them) Has anyone else heard anything?

Maybe the market got flooded with them, I remember when GC blew them out for 299. They'll probably let it sleep for a few years and then bring it back.Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor. Marshall 2203, Marshall JVM 210H, Splawn Nitro, Fender Supersonic 22, Line 6 AX2 212, Marshall 4X12.

Wasn't the DK2M Jacksons biggest selling import?
I'm EXTREMELY sceptical about it being discontiued, for a few reasons.
1) It's still up on the Jackson website
2) Dealers are still selling them, and show no indication of them being discontinued, appart from Musicians Friend (that I know of)
3) Musicians Friend (with probably a few others) apparently often show items as "discontinued" when they're only out of stock.
4) Wikipedia?!?! Don't trust, just... don't.
Even if it really is discontinued, my guess is that it will be a) back some time very soon, or b) we'll be having something new/similar very soon.Last edited by SilverEra; 04-07-2010, 06:42 PM.

It looks like the ENTIRE "M" line is discontinued... RR24M, DK2M, RR3M... all of em. Shame really, I thought the DK2M was one of the best selling imports ever!Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...

Jackson DK2S Dinky Electric Guitar with Sustainiac (Black Cherry). A powerful, versatile guitar to start with. but the Sustainiac pushes it over the top.
Just because a few dealers are saying it's discontinued (along the the very reliable source wikipedia), doesn't make it so!
Also, check this out. http://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View_PLU&PLU=1339
"Estimated delivery time: Stock due in on 25/04/2010"
I think we can safely say that the DK2M isn't going anywhere, and if it does, Jackson has just lost their biggest selling import! What more can be said?Last edited by SilverEra; 04-07-2010, 07:00 PM.

So? According to zzounds, the DK1, DK2 and DK2S (along with the DK2M) are all discontinued!

Comparing the US to a UK dealer may or may not be a good comparison, other countries have in the past had lots of J/Cs that we did not get in the USA.
The dealers I mentioned(and their sister companies) have the majority of the market(american musical and worldmusic supply doesn't have them either). Maybe they are just showing the 2009 models are out and they are just waiting for 2010 stock. Who knows but with the info we have now things don't look good.
Maybe McD will chime in.

I thinks it's much more likely that there's just a late shipment of guitars or something like that, and dealers have run out. I think that's a much more likely sinario than Jackson suddenly deciding to kill off their best selling import. If they have axed the DK2M, there's going to be huge backdraft coming Jackson's way...
But until we get some kind of official word from Jackson, or the DK2M mysteriously dissappears from their website, I'd say it's still in production.
