  • Thinking about selling my Jackson stars soloist

Any ideas regarding an asking price would be helpful. It is an SL-TN02 with dual emg 81s, black, in great condition. I checked the bay but didn't find much. I'm looking to sell or trade up to a US version in the next month or so(hopefully).

CHeck out this link.. http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box/ and this link http://www.kurosawagakki.com/tags/se...784/index.html

The market might bare more over there. but gives you an idea on used Stars.. Just click the letter J or type in jackson. and then use Google to convert Yen to US dollar

Although i picked up a Jackson Stars (RR1T Equivalent) for 750 with case just a few weeks ago.. and they have em priced around used RR1's from the USA. but atleast it will give you a starting point.. Like they say. You can always come down on price. but never can go up!

I bought my SL-TN02 (black) from the Ishibashi U-box for approx 65k Y inc shipping (around $650 or so).

The Jackson Stars guitars tend to have resale values that are about the same as the Jackson Pro Series from the early to mid 90s. So yeah, 650-750ish is a fair asking price depending on the condition of the guitar. To be honest, you might be able to get more for the guitar if you sold it in the states, because some of the Jackson Stars finishes were never available to the US market, and some of the hardware colors were different. Like some of the Stars models with transparent finishes came with gold hardware, which was never available on the SL3s or the mid 90s Soloist Pros etc.

Good luck with the sale man. The 400$ thing has gotten OLD.

I will disagree a bit with ya here: some of the Jackson Stars are semi-customs / high end...example, my RR1-J1E (?) features an ash body and 24 frets in addition to ebony, binding, MOP inlays & logo. So....IMO Stars like mine are still in the 4 figure range.

                    Wanna see a pic?

RacerX, yes, there are some Jackson Stars that are semi-custom. Or have features not found in models available stateside (24 fret RRs with hum-hum config being one of the more notable.) That being said, OP isn't talking about a 24 fret RR. He's talking about a Jackson Stars soloist. Which prices out around the same as a used Soloist Pro from the mid 90s, a little higher than a used SL3.

As for my comments about the "400$" joke. Yes, I get it, it's an inside joke (to some extent) around here. But really, it just seems dumb to me. Oh no, flame me for being a newb. Who cares? It's an internet forum.

As for pics. No, I don't want to see pics of a nice guitar...YES, post pics. It's one of the main reasons to be on these boards. A solid source of guitar porn.

BUT BUT BUT... You made a BLANKET statement...to which I had to respond. You said "The Jackson Stars tend to have..."

you should have said something like "This level of Jackson Stars..."

                            See?

First, I'm not flaming you, I'm giving you a hard time.

Second, I'm not giving you a hard time for being a n00b, I'm giving you a hard time for whining about something as being "old" and "tired" that you've experienced for less than three months.

Third, "Who cares, it's an Internet forum" - Exactly. If you think THAT was me flaming you, you should probably grow a thicker skin.
