Indeed a JK-20, IIRC they only came in 2 colors back then. Black and that metallic blue. I bought my first Jackson in 99-00 which was a JR-20, Made in India, 2 no top marked humbuckers, licensed FR, 1 toggle switch and 1 volume pot w/ shark fin inlays. Very cheap guitar, bought it for 400 as well from MF, but I have a lot of memories with it!

Is there any other brand of guitar...?

I agree, it looks like a KE20. I had one, very nice guitar for a low-end model. My pickups were different; Kent Armstrong OEM unmarked pickups. Everything else matches up but the color.

The serial does not indicate a MIJ guitar, and it's the same with the blank neck pocket/heel. From what we know, this does indeed look like an indian made XX-10 or XX-20 something.

Looks like a pair of EMG 81's. Whats the skinny on those Kent Armstrong pickups, are they any count? I still have my original set from my JR20 laying around.

They sound like shit, imo. They are like the Kent Armstrong "Designed by" series. Replaced mine with Duncans ASAP.

They were BY FAR the WORST sounding pickups I have ever heard! I actually bought a set of stock J70 pups from Alvin Wilson to replace them with and those sounded a million times better!
