  • Mustaine V sighted.

DarylV and I hung out Sat and we saw a silver metal flake Mustaine V for sale.
It was an import KV pro with a few wing dings so whats new there right?
Most deff a cool guitar but the dealer said $1500 WTF? no sale here.
Never saw one in this color only black.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I'm dying to own one some day, but that price is slightly high. What condition was it in?

Oh yeah the silver ones look cool. I recall someone around here refinned a KV in silver metalflake too...

$1500 is not a horrible price if the guitar is in good shape, especially if it has the silver sparkle finish.

I disagree. I know the silver sparkle is fairly rare, but 1500? Not in this economy. Hell, I just picked up a CLEAN recent KV2 for a LOT less than that.

Well I guess the guitar is only worth what someone would pay for it. The silver sparkle KV1 is way more rare than any KV2 out there. I have 2 KV1 models and 1 KV2 in personal collection. It took me a long time to find the silver sparkle version ( the other is a Korina ). KV2's can be ordered from almost anywhere.

I just saw someone on ebay selling the silver mustaine one for $3000 ( which is crazy ) but the few I have seen all sold for over $1500.00.

I paid $1400 for my silver sparkle about 2 years ago after searching for one for like 8 years. They are pretty rare so like I said, depends on who the person is and how much they want to get their hands on an older Mustaine Jackson KV1.

Yeah, but you are talking KV1's for $1500, not KV Pro's, which is what this post is about.

Not being a huge Mustaine fan myself I would take a USA KV2 over a Mustaine KV Pro.

Not sure if it is still there, but the Edina, MN GC had a silver metalflake listed at $1,000. It was in great condition. But I don't know I would go more than that on one. 9 years ago I picked up my black one for under $800 wih case in mint condition. $1,500 seems steep to me by those standards. Then again I haven't been keeping up on the value/collectability of old Jackson's these days.

if someone knows for sure if this guitar is still there, for $1000 I would buy it in a heartbeat. The KV Mustaine Silver Sparkle with Kahler is an amazing guitar IMO. Plays great, perfect neck, the only issue I have is that the silver oxidizes under the paint over the years and tends to give it a goldish glow in certain lights.

There is one at Guitar Center in Edina MN. Silver and under a grand. I am broke or I would have snatched it. Just bought a Mac Tower And Pro Tools 9.0 rig, 2 screens and studio monitors. Plus all the furniture fore it and that just killed my toy shopping for a few months. Hehe. Check it out. Its not pristine. But its a good player. I tried it out.

                        Good luck
