I've seen one of these guitars at GC for $250. I can't seem to find out much about them other than there was $600 made. Is it a good guitar, or a good for the money guitar?

Play it. If it feels right/good/etc, then ask yourself, "Is it worth what they're asking?"
It doesn't matter how many were made, what matters is do you like it enough to buy it. I had a JRR 94 (Concept) and the neck was VERY nice.
