  • Shark Fin Inlay Border

I picked up another DK2 recently and noticed that the shark fin inlays have a tortoiseshell border along the edge that runs parallel to the frets and the larger inlays have the border around the whole thing.

Has anyone seen this before? Have any info on it?

    Here’s a pic:

hard to tell in the pic, but that looks like air bubbles in the filler.

It's difficult to take a pic that shows the detail. It really looks like tortoiseshell in person. What color is the glue/filler used for inlays? I'll try and take a better pic...

The filler is usually black, and usually isnt very noticable unless the CNC machine had a dull bit that day.
