Is there something wrong with the 30th anniversary Rhoads model? There are supposedly only 30 copies made, but Ebay is still full of them. Why it doesn't sell? I think that it will be a rare and sought after guitar in a couple of years time or am I totally wrong?

Theyre actually great.. but guitars in that price range arent moving too well these days in general. Even though the one I got had a host of inexcusable foul ups you wouldnt find on a $200 guitar I'm thinking about getting another one after the summer is over.. I got mine straightened out eventually & its become one of my favorite guitars. Of the 1st 10 made I belive 4 are still unsold in stores now. The ones on ebay have been on there since they were 1st released & both those stores are holding out for $4000 or more.. I offered one of them $3500 about 2 months ago & got a very very rude reply.

I think he's talking about the 30th Anny RR5FR models, as shown here.
Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.
a) These are imports, so wrong forum.
b) There are 150 of them being made.
c) With all due respect to Jackson, IMHO the graphic is pretty fugly.

There is just one in my town, white with red graphic. I took my son to play it months ago and its still there. It was nice, but not $1200 plus tax nice. rose wood board, no binding etc. for that price I kind of expect a little more. My guitar center only gets the bottom end imports now and not many. The manager told me that since the 5 series, pro series etc are over a grand that they have exceeded the price point that most will pay for the features they offer for an import. They have tons of schecters and ltds for under a grand with really nice finishes etc , thats what they sell so thats what they order. I myself would pay a little more for a japanese jackson over a korean import, but im the minority according to guitar ceneter. another thing is color choices. My son wants a jackson, and I would love for him to have one too. but a kv5fr in black with gold stripes or the bolted steel is not much of a choice. for $1200 they need to offer a little more. Im not bashing jackson at all, They are my fave, Im old and from back in the the day lol, but for now,new jackson import purchases for my fam are on hold untill we get a little more for our cash and for sure some much better finish options . For that price ive seen some used u.s. models in good shape. or jackson stars with ebony boards and binding etc.Last edited by Elway7; 07-22-2010, 05:52 PM.
