Why did they do that? This is too similar too the X series... Is the wood and pickups the only difference?

I had a js 30 gun metal 22 frets, floyd ish bridge and it was not a "Bad playing" guitar by any means. the cvrs or whatever they we're ok. I just don't see this as a floyd issue(because they already had them).the other upgrade if you wanna call 'em that are nice : )I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

My JS30 Kelly is a decent guitar for the price I paid. Put a good set of PUs and you can have fun with these guitars!

Cancel out the JS series, and make the X series cheaper by making them in India or Korea, (with the same models of course, like an X series Dinky with a Fulcrum, basswood, maybe Jackson CVR pickups, etc).
Or maybe this is the first step into doing such

Very true, and many mid-high priced guitars, such as Schecter and ESP, fuck even Ibanez still have them made in Korea, (and from what I've played, most aren't that bad!)
But 2 things come to mind with the current JS series:
1. If you're starting out on guitar, a Floyd wouldn't be the best bridge to start with, as well, is a full line of JS' with Floyd's necessary?
2. If you're looking to get a guitar with a Floyd to upgrade in the near future, Indian Cedro isn't a great base wood to be using for the body.
I can't say it enough, the only problems with the JS series is the Indian Cedro. Make them out of Basswood! That way, you can have a longer lasting beginner guitar, and people wouldn't think of "Oh, herp derp, I played a JS series Jackson before and it sounded like garbage!" when they think of Jackson.Last edited by MetalHeadMat; 09-06-2010, 04:42 AM.
