  • Jackson allen wrenches, truss rod tool, Tremolo arm! (Pre '06 SL3)

I bought a used Jackson SL3 and didn't get any of these tools. Is there a website or a way to go through Jackson to get the wrenches and truss rod tool?

Or can I just get it through guitar center etc...?

Does anyone else have a Pre 2006 Jackson SL3 here? The one with the JT580LP (99%) tremolo (NOT OFR)?

Is the tremolo arm supposed to be a different shade than the actually tremolo unit itself? The guy I purchased it from included a trem. arm, but its a bit "grayer", and not silver-ish like the tremolo unit on the guitar....

Can anyone verify? Thank you for your help!

just get a small metric allen key set. the bridge studs and locknuts are 3mm and the saddles are 2.5mm.

not sure what your truss rod is like, but i can get a 5/16" socket on mine.

Why do people think you need Jackson tools to work on Jackson guitars? Any set of allen keys (wrenches) will work just fine. Do you not have a set lying around the house?

As for the trem arm, didn't you have another thread asking the same thing? I have an older SL3 and the trem arm is the same chrome colour as the rest of the trem. (I also put a Cool Rails in the middle instead of the Hot Rails, works better IMO).

Nice SL3! The original seller of my SL3 must have gave me a different vibrato arm because mine is satin chrome and the vibrato itself is a shiny chrome.

I have a KE3, how come the fine tuners on the JT580 of it are chrome, but on the SL3 JT580LP the fine tuners are black?

I don't know why the fine tuners are different. It was the same on my RR3 too, all chrome. My KE3 was the same too, but I changed that quite a bit.

I have absolutely no idea. I posted asking that question when I got it, but I'm none the wiser. I think Toejam had some idea, but I'm not sure at all. It looks more purple to me or I'd have got Budman to do me blue pearl pickup rings and truss cover instead of the black pearl ones.
In dim light it looks almost black!

EDIT - looking at the catalog scans (it's from 2001, had reverse sharkies but normal headstock originally) I'd say it's cobalt blue.
Still looks fuckin' purple to me!
