    Anyone remember the "fabric finish" trainwreck from a few years ago?

    A few years back (2004? 2005?) a now-former JCFer offered to do some fabric finishes as an experiment, hoping that it was something he could do as a business. Well, it didn't go so well, and a lot of people were pretty unhappy from what I recall, but with some strategically placed military decals, I was able to hide most of the flaws on my guitar. I used this guitar (Jackson Concept JDX-94) at an outdoor festival a couple weekends back, and since I got some good pics, I thought I'd post them so people could see how it turned out. I've recorded with this guitar as well, as the fabric finish and thick albeit sloppy clearcoat give it an unexpectedly good tone for tight rhythm playing.

    Yup. I remember getting in on that craze

    Put some Desert Camo on a JSX-94 body that was hacked to bits. Put some heavy Winter Camo on a KV Pro, but ti was too thick, so I stripped it off and put some thinner Snakeskin fabric on it, then sold it. I think dude said he stripped that weak shit right off

    I also put some thin Zebra print on a Warmoth Star. Probably ruined that one as the body was unfinished/unsealed

          You can see in the first pic that there are some random spots, smudges and so on. I chose a pretty thick fabric, and even so, there was some bleed from the glue. Plus, there were fingerprints and dust in the clearcoat. Like I said, the decals cover up most of them, but I wasn't going to try to cover them all. The edge down by the output jack was really rough, which is why I put the row of bomb decals there.

          I'm considering some "iron cross" vinyl inlay stickers to cover the dots, but that might be overkill. The dots don't really look so bad on this particular guitar, probably because it has white elsewhere.
