  • I was happy and did not know

hello friends, you know what? I sold my SL2H and I have no Remorse

I dreamed for a long time to have a USA Soloist until I finally had the opportunity, Now 4 months after I realized that my DK2 Dinky had it all! and there is not much difference between the PRO Series and the SL2H Soloist

True: Looks better, better paint finish, luxurious touches such as Mother of Pearl, Ebony Fretboard, Neck through, Original Floyd Rose, etc etc
but in regard to the SOUND Is not much difference

No, definitely not because I have lacked money

As I said some things are certain about the Jackson USA:
    * The original Floyd Rose is impressive, it is a pleasure to use! but the JT580 is not bad, in fact: the JT580 bridges that I've tried were very stable
    * The quality and paint finish is superior, but that does not improve sound
    * The necktrough makes access to the upper frets very comfortable, but also the access is pretty good in the Pro series and the neck is very comfortable too
    * Both brings Seymour Duncan pickups, there is no difference in either sound cuality or gain
    * The quality of the wood has to be higher? but I dit not notice a huge difference in sound between the PRO series I tried (two DK2 a DKMG Dinky and RR3)

    > To summarize: It's not worth the investment, with a 600$ Japanese Made Jackson I have 90% of sound and comfort you get with a 2000$ USA

    * With my DK2 and was happy and did not know and now I ordered a beautiful DK2M Dinky to replace the other

Yeah, I buy the USA's just to show off, because I think I'm better than everyone else...

      Wait, no, that's not why.

Actually I agree, I first bought an import Soloist and in reality, it was plenty good enough for me. I buy the USA models because they were the ones I wanted when I was a kid and could not afford them.

I just wish they put the FR2000 on the DK2M. I'd buy a stack of them, two in every color they make.

I don't get it. Forgive me, but you said you didn't need the money, but the SL2H was a better guitar. Why then, would you sell it?
        I like EL34s.

I've never owned or played a US or CS Jackson or Charvel. I'm sure they're nice, and may indulge in a nice strat or dinky someday, as long as it's a bolt on. No neck throughs for me.

But I have to say, for my level of skill and needs, and for the money, I love the imports. The $700 DK2 I bought a while back is an amazing instrument. The tone and playability is just outrageous.

Sorry, but I've not found that to be the case. My Bengal SL2H will be around long after the DK2 is sold. It is just a BAMFG (bad-ass-mother-fucking-guitar ).

The only things I really miss about my SL2H are aesthetic. The Blue Ghost flame finish, the ebony board and the shape of the US headstock(again, I say theres a difference in shape). Dont get me wrong, it was a super nice guitar, but not $2500 nice.

Because I do not need more quality than what I get in a Pro Series to be musically pleased, and I feel it is worth every penny I pay
in my opinion I bought a $2000 guitar but only got an 10% extra improvement, that 10% extra is not worth to me and neither I need it

i would have sold it just because it's green.
I do somewhat agree though. I sell my guitars that don't get much playing time to buy others and I have sold the only usa jackson I have owned and kept imports. I have also sold a few charvel usa promods.
money wise unless the usa has some sick finish I'm not going to spend the extra cash.
I also suck as a guitar player so that kinda instrument is a waste on me.:ROTF:

It's like anything else. There is a law of diminishing returns. It all depends whether you feel it's worth spending 200% more for a 10% improvement.

I came to the same conclusion decades ago. It's good that you had the expensive guitar since you won't wonder how much better it would be if you hadn't. I hate expensive stuff--it never lives up to the hype. As for people who buy it; it's really just an aspirational purchase. Does anybody think the $3,200 Carlos Santana PRS model plays and sounds better than a $100 Electra/Westone? I don't.

Uh, $100 Electra/Westone, yeah, that probably sounds a little better than the PRS.

I wouldn't go that far, but after you hit the $600-$1000 range, any more money is just paying for aesthetics and brand.

Some of the HSH Westone models come with three push/pull pots and have 18 different pup settings. MMK pups sound good and a lot of people like the tone they produce. If the tone that Santana PRS puts out sounds anything like Santana then I'd take an Electra/Westone over it any day.
