Have you been playing Strat bodies alongside your Kellys or is this going to be your first one in a while? If it's the latter then get ready for an adjustment period. It'll feel weird at first. I'm still going through that period, myself, going from a superstrat to the new Kelly. Weird but fun.

LJ- i mix em up rhoads/kellys/dinkys so i'm cool with it. the only thing is i hate standard headstocks. every guitar i had i converted to reverse and i dont see me doin that to the soloist. the only other guitar i didnt convert was my rhoads pro. i love the feel of neckthrus but why arent there many reverse
oh yeah you did get a closet queen XLR didnt you.

actually i meant the one i'm trading is the last one i acquired which was in my family for like 14years, just wasnt "mine" til recently. crazy thing is i got it for $275 so i just turned $275 into a soloist pro

true, true. yeah the guy i'm gettin from just didnt bond with it. i just hope i dont get it in hand with a slight twist in the neck or some other crazy issue.

I've always loved reverse headstocks, too. Just could never afford one. This is the first I've ever owned, I believe. Hard to remember, actually. Been doing this for ... 28 years, now? Cheese and Rice, did I just date myself or what?

I got the closet queen, huh? Sounds kinky. All the better for me, though. She's definitely a beauty and in pretty darn good shape for her age. 16 years old, almost legal. Woohoo!

Well, as we both apparently have the same tastes, I definitely agree that you'll love the Pro! I have no problem switching back and forth from the Kelly XL, DKMG (when I had it), JDR-94, '90 Soloist Pro (Blue), and the '93 USA Soloist. All different but all great to play. That white looks fuckin' stunning!! Congrats on the great score man!

so update as another sad day. not to drag your name thru the mud funky apocalypse, but just to vent a lil. the original deal was we would ship on the same day, just after ups picks up my kelly i get a text sayin that his parents(the ones flippin the shipping bill) dont want to ship until my guitar gets there....fuck.....so after a lil talkin he says he'll get it to me tuesday(today) but no guitar today and i knew it wasnt comin cause i had mentioned on sunday that ups says my guitar isnt gettin there til the 2nd so i wanted to see if i was still gettin it today. reply was the kelly isnt here yet so were not shipping.....fuck.....i had planned on givin the guy an extra 100 bucks ontop once the guitar exchange was complete simply for doing what he said he was gonna do.....he hasnt, but only cause of his parents.....you guys know me, i do what i say i'm gonna do. if i am late, its by a day or two at max. he knows, i'm ok with waitin for the sake of his parents sense of security, but i gave em a tracking number, pics of the guitar in the prelabelled box. parents said they'd ship it overnight one my kelly got there to compensate, but really?! does shipping overnight compensate for the ill feeling in my stomache knowing things didnt go as agreed? i dont know. i'm very disappointed in this deal. i got two shows left before i quit my band and once i knew the trade was gonna happen all i wanted to do is get the soloist set up and play my last two gigs with it. looks like i'll only get to play my last gig with it.......yes it is a sad rainy day in SC

and lemme just add that jacob(funkyApocalyse) is a cool guy. i dont blame him for this as he is also unhappy with the way things are goin. i can understand a parent lookin out for their kid especially when he's been ripped off before. just sucks for me....but i'm sure once the guitar is in my hand it will wash away all the problems as they will have been overcome

That sucks, dude. Will you still get to do the last gig with it? Fuck FunkyApocalypse's parents! Fucking welchers! I think this story deserves a post in Feedback.
