  • Reverse HS replacement tuners

I got a budget JS coming to take with me to Afghanistan, I know the tuners will be junk. What will drop in with no mods, preferably locking(I suck at winding strings) Will these work

Nato force? The most I can say is not too worry too much about the tuners. You can change them, but it will still go out of tune periodically, although much less than with standard tuners. I don't know if anyone can actually answer that question as few of us here have JS or modded them to that extent, the other half just have Floyd roses, so no use replacing the tuners. I'm not sure if it would be the same for all jacksons, or is the JS unique for that. I know that it is by the far the most different of all import series.

If anyone can at least answer that these are the standard Jackson mounting then, for locking tuners check out Warmoth's Schaller Mini Locking Tuners. Just buy 6 "right" tuners and you're all set.

You can get Gotohs from Stewmac as well.

Unfortunately I've never seen that model to know what the tuner mounting hole position is or anything. :dunno:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Jackson-...54-i1502349.gc here is the exact guitar thanks for the help so far guys
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id8OeE6MWX8 if you go to 58 secs in the vid it shows an up close shot of the Jackson branded tuners on the JS23 which I am sure would be the same tuners on the JS32

Hi ArmyGuitar. Welcome to the forum. In my opinion (not that you asked for it ), upgrading the tuners on a $300 non-trem guitar seems like a waste of money. In my experience, Jackson tuners are pretty standard through the models including most midrange and some high end units. These haven't changed in design over the years so I would think if these were junk, Jackson would have dumped them a long time ago. I would suggest waiting until it arrives and playing first before spending $60 on a set of tuners that may not be necessary. Cheers!

Thank You for the welcome, in all honesty the only reason I truly want to change them is because I suck at changing strings and it will just be easier on me. I found some Jin Ho/Wilkinson locking ones for like 30 bucks but not sure how good they are.
