  • dk2 for a strat sound

are the seymour duncan single coils good for a strat-esque sound??

The Duncan Designed singles supposed to be pretty good sounding. I need to mess with my DK2 a little more to find out. Do a push/pull pot to split the bridge and you'll have everything covered.

The newer DK2s come with real Duncans... the STK1, which was the Classic Stack that sounds pretty good, and they can also be split.

Close but not quite IMO. I could be wrong as I've hardly ever used anything but the bridge on mine.

I always loved the tone of my DK2 for strat-type sounds. and that was with the Duncan Designed pickups, I'd imagine that the real deal would sound a bit better.

i have the one with real duncans obviously its a different guitar i feel they have a little more gain than say a standard strat would have try both of them out
try a fat strat hss which is closest to a dk2 setup and know you can get them with floyds

Did the DK2 Duncan Designed pickups have a boost of some sort? Would I be able to take the humbucker and single coils and put them in three seperate guitars, or does the boost thing have to be wired for them all to work properly?

no boost on the duncan designed, they are just regular

I loved them, I ripped the pickups out of my Dk2, but I kept those, and I will use them for something else again

Ok ta, there's a guy selling a set on ebay UK, but they have some active boost stuff with it, I wonder what that's all about. EDIT - they're from a DK2FS, whatever that is.
I'm not bidding on them anyway, one's for my JDR-94 and that freakin guitar only takes single coils without the wee lip.
