Funny...I'd say a 15 year old jackson with the same specs as a '96 RR3 including a harshell case is worth $400 all day.

      There's one locally for $190.

No way worth 400, they sold for just a lil over that new.

These days just the case goes for around $100.... to each their own guys, a new RR3 is running around $800+, I still think it's a great deal.

Rr3 and rx10d are two different things. A used case cost about 60 plus shipping a new case about 120

There was no X in the name of this guitar when I bought it..... while I know it wasn't the top of the tree it certainly wasn't anywhere near the bargain basement models for sale at the time either. I put that price because I feel it's a fair starting point.

What's the difference between the Musician's Friend specials and the regular X series? Is it just that they're made in Indonesia rather than India and have alder bodies instead of basswood or is there anything else different? Why was that particular batch made in Indonesia instead of India in the first place?
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

But, as stated, this is not an RR3

JR-20, or MF exclusive made in India or Indonesia around 1999 = just above bargain basement

Don't feel bad, bud, I'm sure it feels like a nice cold bucket of water got dumped on you but we're doing a pretty good job of IDing your guitar, and then doing a valuation. (A free service we here at the JCF have been providing for years, ususally followed by the phrase "See you in the Classifieds ).

I stand by my estimate of $ 100 US; if you have a hard case it may add around 60...there's no way you will get 4 bills for this, sorry. I won't bore you with the list of cool Japanese Jacksons I've picked up (with HSC) for $ 250 - 350 over the years...

Double "e" like in eerie dess or eek! "Fells" would be like "smells" just with some different characters thrown in there.

I don't see the phrase "starting point" in your post

OK I see that now (didn't see it before because it was hidden in a run-on sentence)

"Fair" starting point? :ROTF: Unfair more like!

But cool, this was a fun thread. Glad you didn't get upset from all the poking of fun - lots of newbs do!

And now, your nightmare is over.
