  • DXMG body and DKMG "Pirahna" Neck I put together

    jacksondkmg.jpg
Here's a picture of a project I just put together. I bought the DXMG body for $99 and it came with the "turbo charger" EMG active preamp. I paid $100 for the DKMG "piranha" neck, Jackson tuners and the Floyd Rose bridge. The locking nut cost me $8, so the entire project cost me about $210.00.

Loooks nice. Hows she play? BTW, I have the same Marshall Valvestate head.
Do you think atheists with dyslexia and insomnia lay awake at night wondering if there really is a doG?

I really LOVE it. I still have to shim the neck, but it sounds amazing. I was surprised that it wouldn't play without a 9 volt battery, though. I figured it would at least be passive without the battery.

The 9v battery is required for the "Turbocharger" - that pot is wired in but you could take it out if needs be.

Very nice. I had one too. Now i have a dkmg complete and a dk2m w dkmg neck. I think i like the latter better. The dkmg looks sleeker but im not too sure i like the recessed pots. I like mutts. Its like the best off both worlds ha ha.

But what surprised me is that without the 9 volt battery, it doesn't work at all. So even to have the passives work, it must have a battery.

turned out great, going to build a one with a trans blue DK2 body, WRMG neck, korean floyd, gotoh tuners, tone zone, air norton s, no middle pickup, 3 way mini switch and 2 volume pots

always wanted an H/S guitar, searching the bay to find the parts, just gotta wait for em to pop up

                gotta love mutts

If the passive signal goes 100% through the active components, the signal can't get through without power. Only if there is a path for the passive around the active that gets "mixed" together will you have a signal. It all depends on the design and how you wire it.
