  • Balance question

I'm looking to change the pickups in my SL3 Soloist as I'm not struck on the Seymour Duncans. In the neck I'm looking for something that will get me closer to a PAF tone so I'm thinking of a DiMarzio Pro Track. In the bridge I want something beefier, more organic and fluid but still articulate. I don't like mud. The stock JB is just too thin and I only start to warm to it if I engage an MXR Super Compressor with the output and sensitivity maxed out and the attack virtually on zero. At the moment it's between the Bare Knuckle Holy Diver and Bare Knuckle Warpig. I play in a Rock covers band so it has to cover a wide range of tones. This brings up 2 questions:

    1) Anyone have any insight as to which of these humbuckers might be best?

    2) Is the Pro Track powerful enough to balance with such hot humbuckers? (The Holy Diver is 15.9 and the Warpig is 21.5)
