  • Replacement Bridge for a Jackson JS20

    Hey guys,

I'm new the board but also new when it comes to guitars (in a sense). I picked up a Jackson JS20 in very good condition for $65 but would like the replace the bridge, as it is missing some pins and has an obnoxious screw sticking out of it to keep one of the pieces in. Unfortunately I can't seem to find anywhere to get a replacement bridge.

I intend to sell it to a friend for his first guitar, so I don't need anything fancy on it - he's aware of the benifits that come with owning an axe that is lower-end but also some of the drawbacks. He probably won't even need a whammy bar on it, so a bridge without a tremolo is no biggie.

Thanks for your time everyone. I really hope I can learn more about guitars and the different brands as I age with them. This Jackson sounds killer, by the way - a steal for $65.

    And just on a side-note:

I recently discovered this 2-Point Fulcrum Bridge on Ebay:

But I would feel more comfortable buying from a store. However if the price seems reasonable then I'd be happy to shell out for it. I just want to know I am getting the right thing, since I read that JS20's come with 2-point fulcrum bridges.

I think the only thing you would have to worry about is whether or not the stud spacing is the same.

Can you post a picture of the bridge as it is? You should be able to replace some of the parts and resurrect it that way. On my Jackson JS20, I replaced all of the saddles with Graphtec ones, but you may find a set of saddles at www.guitarfetish.com that will suit. Measure the width of one of the saddles and order a set of six. They should come with the screws and springs required to fit them.

Good luck and let us know how you go with it.
      A Charvel CX592, Jackson JS20 and a Jackson DK2, amongst others....
