Haven't seen a single mention in this entire thread, but I gotta go with my RR5FR. Sure it doesn't have binding or ebony, but it's smooth as silk. As in silk bedsheets. The kind of silk bedsheets you lay on with a drunken Megan Fox.

I just got it a couple of weeks ago through a trade, I knew it was a special run but I couldn't remember from where.Mine don't have the neck pocket issue that I've heard so much about concerning this model.

DK2M for a non-PRO and the KE5FR as the pro.

^DK2M and KE5FR are both modern "Pros". What they mean by non "PRO" is not part of the original Japanese PRO lineup from the early 90's, with the same features as the USA models.

Congrats on the acquisition Hunter, she's a beauty. I'm 99% sure that's the Musicians Friend special. I'm sure someone else can verify for certain.

+1 on that. My guitarist just got an RR5FR himself and I just couldn't believe how good it is. The set up, the fretjob, the neck are all A+. Even the rosewood board is dark enough. It sustains nicely.

Verrrry dark indeed. Looks like some lighter ebony boards I've seen. I was fortunate enough to get Guitar Center to price match Musicians Friends price of $600 at the time. I could have just ordered it from MF, but I deal with the guys at GC quite a bit, and figured I'd throw them some comission. Of course, 4 days later MF blew them out at $400, and sold out in a few hours
