  • Yet another 'what the hell model is this' thread...

Believe me, I have had a good look around, searched through all the catalogue scans I can find etc. and I'm still coming up with a blank. Any help you crusty old wizards can offer would be much appreciated.

The seller has described it as a Performer, but it doesn't fit with my knowledge of the series. This is what I'm looking at -

    Dinky body
    Jackson pickups in H-S-H
Reverse headstock ( no Performer designation on the head, blank truss rod cover )
    24 frets
    Rosewood board, unbound
    Reverse sharkfin inlays
    Black hardware with Jackson Floyd
    Trans burst finish

It 'feels' Japanese rather than Korean if you know what I mean, but there's nothing to indicate where it was made. Good condition but clearly a few years old - could easily be 90's.

    Any thoughts?

Nice work! A quick search on the DRX threw up this image hich looks exactly like the fiddle I saw earlier today -

Not much other info forthcoming unfortunately. Couldn't judge how well it might play as strings were missing but it felt solid. Where were they made?

Whoops. That's because I should have put 24 in the original post!
