  • Anyone know how to get a Jackson Stars in the US?

I like the look of some of the Stars Jacksons and I was wondering how I could order one new and have it shipped to the US, I have seen some other people do it before, just wanted to know how...

Order it through Celga, which will charge you a middleman fee but will still ship it to you

Thanks, I've actually wanted to know too. I was starting to think they stopped making them or they weren't available anymore.

            Ishibshi will ship internationally.
            I think Ikebbe-Gakki does too.

I thought they stopped building the Jackson Stars.. Didn't they have a big blowout sale last year and end them?

Yes, for the Japan market, they originally called them Grover Jackson then Jackson Stars (they couldn't just call them Jackson due to some law). Now they are just Jackson.

I just converted those prices. The RR2 is like $2200, the RR3 is like $1300 (I may be off slightly, can't remember). What's up with that? Also is the only difference between the RR1 and RR2 the body wood and fretboard? RR1 is mahogany with ebony board, RR2 is alder with striped ebony board. Is striped ebony just mean not dyed? I just want to make sure the RR2 isn't the equivalent of the RR5.

Well, those are MSRP or MAP prices. Granted Japanese dealers aren't really into giving discounts like USA dealers do to stimulate competition.

And the TN02's striped ebony board does resemble rosewood in appearance, but it's a dark color, not light like those Indo-imports or the XMG models.
Looks more like Brazilian rosewood to me.

Duh! Didin't even think it'd be MSRP. Still $2200 MSRP that'd probably still be a lot street price, right? Weren't they around $1200 before?

With the older models, and before the Dollar tanked against everything else, they ranged from about $1100-$1700 MSRP, which in Japan is the same as street price, as I understand it. It's another world over there entirely: no credit cards/financing, no layaway - you want it, you work for it and save the cash.
