Just picked up my white dk2m and about to drive back home. Might have to stop for some fish tacos tho to celebrate. Lol

I didn't notice this when I went in and put it on layaway but there's aparently a crack in the body coming from the neck joint like it was dropped and landed neck first. =/

Dispite that, the guitar plays and sounds great. When I went in to gc a few weeks ago, to me, this was the best playing/sounding guitar I picked up and had to have it. This will actually be my second white dk2m but this one just feels so much more "right" then my other.

After I eat my celebratory fish tacos and make the drive home ill post up some pics of her and the rest of the family.

    Dk2m

    The whole family.
(From left to right) 2010 epiphone les paul studio deluxe, dk2m, new dk2m, 2005 schecter c-1 xxx, and 1983 ibanez x series.

    the twins.

I would ask for a refund or discount, though they might not take it back if its smelling of fish .

I did get $50 knocked off of it. Well, sorta, I had them do a full set up on it, and throw some eb power slinkys on it for no charge (advertised as $50+strings cost) And since one of the pickup rings is cracked he threw in a pack of flat pickup rings.

It feels pretty solid. Like, I don't think its going to fall apart on me or anything. Ill just try and be careful with it. Its gonna be setting in a case anytime im not playing it so it will be taken care of.

So in total, guitar, strings, pickup rings, full set up, and tax I spent $405 on it. May have been a bit high, but to tell you the truth, I would have paid any semi reasonable price. When I picked this thing up it just made me smile right away and I was kind of affraid to put it back down in fear someone else would pick it up. Lol

Damn, I LOVE the way those inlays look on maple. I'm not a big maple board fan, but dayam that's badass, and you've got two of them!

So, here's what I'm thinking. In the family photo, sell off the Ibanez, put the LP next to the two dinkys, and pick up a black RR to close up the ends.

                  Oh wait, what's this?

Lol that ibanez was actually passed down to me from my dad who bought it new in 1984. Its in like 8/10 condition, and is the first guitar i ever touched. I could never part ways with it. And that schecter was my first guitar, played it so much that the clear and some of the paint is wore off the neck. Lots of memories in those two guitars. The LP rides a stand cos I can't stand the pickups in it. They can't compair to the screamin deamon bridge and jb bridge in my dinkys. I am thinking about getting a set of blackouts for my new dk2m tho and putting the jb/jazz in the LP so it will get some use again.

One day when my budget and girlfriend permits, I would like to add a nice RR or Warrior to my collection tho. (I've bought 3 guitars in the last year...she thinks that's too many. xD )

Very good heritage on that Ibi, sounds like a keeper! It appears that there's an EMG in it, true? If so, then I suppose you know what actives sound like in your setup. Personally, I had a very nice Epiphone LP Custom with Blackouts in it, and I found it very dry and metallic, if that makes sense. There was no dimensionality to the sound. Sorry if I'm not getting this across properly. It's difficult to describe. These were the first iteration of the Blackouts though, and this is only my opinion, using my gear of course. Both the pickups and the guitar were sold last year to acquire a mint, used Model 6.

Regardless of my inane babbling, congrats on another great acquisition!

Really? Hmm..I was interested because they supposedly sound "fuller" then emgs.

They may very well have more low mids in there, but compared to passives, it was still metallic. Of course, that sounds like using them to play m,etal would be fantastic, as is the course most people use them for. There are many things that impact the ultimate sound in the processing chain, so honestly, you're results may be completely different. One thing to note is that I was using a POD for the short period that I had these. That may have contributed to the problem. I've gone back to using my JMP-1 for a preamp, but that guitar is gone...

Wait wait, are you saying there's music out there other then metal? Lol

I like emgs except that they're a little too bright to me and the clips I've heard it seems like the blackouts are a little beefier sounding.

But thanks for your input, bad reviews are even more important then good reviews imo.

Im also kinda thinking about maybe an 85/85 set up cos I've heard the 85 is beefier sounding then the 81.
