  • Question about PC 3 neck

Could one of you that own one measure the neck heel for me?

I bought a used one on Ebay. It needed quite a bit of work. I was assuming it was 2 1/4" sanded down to fit a smaller neck pocket. Now I'm wondering if it was originally 2 3/16 and should go on a Performer series body instead of my DK2.

What color is the fret board? Looks like Rosewood in the pics.
    If so, it's not a PC3 neck.

As for the heel, the Performer and DK2 have the same neck pocket size... either will work.

One of the Performer Dinky models had the PC-style headstock, although it should of course say Performer on it.

        That thing's been sanded heavily.

Very heavily! Thats why I'm unclear on the original measurement.

          So, 2 3/16 or 2 1/4 ?

Besides the sanding and the hole-drilling, the fretboard was finished dark BLUE. Ack!

I've removed almost all of the blue and rebuilt the corners of the heel with coat after coat of polyurethane. I'm also kicking myself for not getting a Musikraft 24 fret strat-head neck in the first place.

Any help with the measurement would be apprediated, thanks.

Holy crap!!! That thing looks hammered!
I can see the fret divots without zooming in the pic.

Hope you didn't pay more than $20 for it.

But to answer your question, the heel is supposed to be 2 1/4"
