  • pickup question for 91 import professional

I recently bought a 1991 MIJ import pro.

    Will any humbucker fit?
Does it matter if long/short leg?
    53 mm bridge?
I am planning on putting in a pair of suhr aldriches with push pull pot for coil splitting.
    Thanks

Well, what I'd suggest is what works for me, with my amp and the stuff I like to play. If you are like me, then a full shred set would sound good to you.

But then again, if you were me, you'd find out what pickups are in the guitar currently and try to determine what you don't like about them, if anything, and try to find a pickup that solves those issues.

Have you done this analysis and found that the suhr aldriches fit the bill, or do you just want these because they sound cool?

I agree on the push / pull pots. That's one reason I like my 750XL better - I installed a Mega 5 way. I still installed a push/pull in the tone, but for phase reversing.

A friend of mine has the TOM version of the AT Pro, and it sounds absolutely AWESOME with Aldrich pickups in it.
Division - American Metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on Facebook.

            I undertsnad what you mean.
I had aldriches in a couple guitars with in two suhr maple/mahogany carve top moderns, which got sold. I dont have the $3k for another carvetop modern so I'm trying to get that vibe.
The aldriches split real well too.
Guitar has duncan custom custom bridge and duncan distortion neck, but thye are too hot for me.
