Maybe you can forgive RacerX--if you had over 33,000 posts you wouldn't have much of a life either.

I measure with a digital caliper and remove the trem without loosening the strings. I can replace a pup quickly and usually the guitar is still in tune after I re-install the trem. Watch after 3:10...

Its all well and good if you have a hold of the bridge when you do remove the springs, but Newc didnt mention anything about securing the bridge first. Howd you get that black eye??

Ill add to this. 30,000+ in 9 years. Thats an average of 9 and some change posts per day.. In order to keep that average, you have to do 1 of 2 or both things. 1. Throw the old adage "if you dont have anything nice to say, say nothing at all" out the window. 2. Post useless stuff, repeatedly. So, as you can see, hes not really being a douche. While he may of actually been a little annoyed, mostly he has to keep up his 9 post average or better. When replying to a post thats rude in manner, you have to refer to option 1, as option 2 would make no sense, though it would have been just as effective.

So, lets recap, Ron, not necessarily a douche, you did indeed throw the first insult, Ron opted for option 1, mud commenced a flyin, and I got another post in that WAS of worth and beat my average for the day even further than I already have today.

He did use the term "d!ckhead" in reference to the OP and he referred to another member as an "idiot" recently in a different thread. He also seems to constantly refer to members as "newbs"--and sometimes does so in caps to add insult to injury. His behavior is counterproductive because it chases away new and prospective members--many of whom won't even bother to set up an account or become paying members after seeing this type of abuse again and again by the same person. No business owner would run a business like this and expect to be successful. It's one thing to confront someone for breaking forum rules and quite another to enforce your own rules.

I find it interesting that you had to respond for Ron--it appears that you have as little confidence in him as I do.

Actually, I was mocking him as much as I was defending him, if not more. Hes just a goofball. The antagonist of the board. What fun would it be if we all behaved our selves all the time. And, ok, dickhead and idiot may have been strong, but hey, what can you do. He DOES post useful stuff from time to time, and knows his Jacksons.

Just got this guitar in. According to kc7txm's info this is a 2000 MII JS30. Its in great shape for being that old. I thought it was a newer one. I still dont know if the neck is a replace or not as it is not stamped on the heel. Does anyone know if necks with offset dots were used on this year and model? The pups are Duncan Designed (not sure how long Jackson has used them). The FR licensed trem is like the old FR II's where the strings are fed through the rear of the trem. Ive never had a guitar with this kind of trem. I heard good and bad things about them. I have an old Striker that came with one, but I put a double locking trem on it.

It may be a parts mutt. Sounds like a JS body with some other neck. As far as the trem, I dont know about older ones, but ones made in the last 5 or 6 years have had 580LPs, what you described sounds like a 500. Which may lend more to the parts mutt theory.

Since you know the year you could check the Jackson/Charvel catalog scans: http://audiozone.dk/guitargallery/?c...son_Charvel%2F

This could be a DX10 like someone said earlier, but the scan is so blurry I cant tell. The second guitar down might be what I have, but I cant tell what the fret markers look like because its blurry.

At the risk of sounding like a whiny bitch, the OP called me dickhead 1st. No excuses for me returning the insult (what is this, Junior High?)

and he referred to another member as an "idiot" recently in a different thread.
Did a search going back 6 months, didn't find any post. Idiot is a strong word which I don't like using much. So, you find it Trussrod; I don't like being accused falsely.

He also seems to constantly refer to members as "newbs"--and sometimes does so in caps to add insult to injury.
"Constantly"? Don't think so. all caps, are you keeping score?

You know this how? Try to remove the "I see the one post in 100 where Ron is flaming a newb so I'll ignore the others where he is really helpful" glasses. In fact, I see new members joining all the time due in part to our welcoming & helpful culture here.

While supplying a serial number is not a "rule", it is quite helpful in IDing a guitar. I love the serial numbers and figuring them out & helping others with theirs - I do this quite a bit, even have lots of folks PMing me, so excuse a little frustration with the 100th ID request with no ser#

I find it interesting that you had to respond for Ron--it appears that you have as little confidence in him as I do.
I wasn't aware I needed your confidence! Man, Trussrod, when did I piss in your Wheaties?
