  • jackson fusion replacement body

i recently purchased a jackson fusion standard. i love the neck and the shorter scale. i am interested in making a project out of this.... i was thinking of getting an alder body in an HS config. will this change the scale length? is there a company out there making replacement bodies?

scale length has nothing to do with the type of wood you use or the pickup config. it's the measurement of the neck pocket to the floyd posts (which determines where the saddles are located) that matters. from locking nut to the saddles it has to measure 24.75 inch. most companies make short scale bodies.

you could probably ask musikraft to change this https://www.musikraft.com/product-info.php?pid97.html to a short scale and add a single pup. or ask southeast guitars, my personal favorite custom guitar body place, to make one of these http://www.southeastguitars.com/bodies.htm a short scale body and add a single.

never bought from these guys but i would imagine they can make short scale bodies: http://www.mojobodies.com/k5150_body.htm

browse around these sites. some good stuff there.

i understand about the scale length, and its relation from nut to trem measurement. my concern is the length from where the neck joins the body to the position of the bridge on the replacement body. I may have not elaborated as clearly as i should. so is it the body measurements or is it the neck where we are losing the 3/4 inch? or is it a combination of both. meaning can i use a standard replacement body and still have it be 24 3/4 OR will the measurements on the replacement body be too long thereby lengthening the scale .

thanks for the links i will check them out!

If you got a Charvel Fusion Deluxe you wouldn't need to do anything.
