I recently picked up a white DK2M, that was in pretty nice condition other than a horrible setup, rusty strings, and broken pickup rings. It's amazing the number of players who don't have a clue about setting up a locking trem guitar. Anyway, after a neck shim, trussrod adjustment, new strings, and correct trem setup, I now have a great playing Jackson. I also super-glued the broken pickup rings. This guitar wasn't really abused, as there is virtually zero fretware and no scratches on the body or neck. I think that it was just in such a poor state of setup, that it didn't get played much at all. But with the proper attention, it's a killer guitar. The stock Duncan pickups sound great, and the maple fretboard is fast. What amazes me is that these guitars sell for so little on the used market. I've got less than $250 in this one, and it's a fantastic guitar. I have some fairly high priced guitars, including a Fender AmDlx HSS Strat, a Suhr Classic-S, and a PRS DGT, so I know what a great guitar feels and sounds like. This little Jackson will hold it's own with my high-priced guitars, at a fraction of the cost. I had a SLSMG a while back that was also a great guitar that I bought for $350. It played really well, but I didn't care for the EMGs, so I let that one go. But I think I'll be keeping the DK2M for a while. As a player, it's worth 3 or 4 times the price of admission. I think the Japan-built Jackson guitars are some of the best bargains to be had in the used guitar market.

I just bought a bengal dk2m with emgs a couple of months ago and agree about the maple fretboard... I had to have it!

I absolutely LOVE the bengal DK2Ms, but I never can justify getting one. Before I pull the trigger, every time, I realize how 80s it is, and how silly I'd look wearing it.

You make it sound like that's a bad thing.

The honeymoon is over and I can't say enough good things about this guitar. Still loving the tone--it's thick with a lot of bass and rich with harmonics.

Nice pics, I really like the DK2M. When did Jackson drop them from the lineup?

I didn't say the guitar was silly, just that "I" would look silly wearing it.
