I mentioned before that I used the DXMG neck on another project (see below):

Anyway, said guitar has a green strap that I will be using for this Tiger project. I just ordered a hot pink clip lock for the guitar above, as at the time of the build (a few years ago) the pink one wasn't offered.

I do like the look of the green strap with the floral-pattern-star-monstrosity above, but I don't think the pink strap would fly with the Tiger project. I mean, it would be awesome (neon pink/green always is!), but I'm not so sure I meant to take this build in that direction :thinkSomehow I always end up in that direction )...

Got the body all painted up, clearing is in the very near future:





Also got this in the mail today. I think I'm in love. It's definitely one of those "pictures don't do it justice" scenarios, they should call it "retina burning pink" - It's awesome!

I think the pink automatically gives it a crazy 80's Steve Vai look, which may or may not be a bad thing haha

I get my pickups from him too, he combines shipping, and has pretty good prices. I think he only ships to the US and Canada though for all you international folk

I made sure the neck was sanded smooth, then oiled it (more just for color than for protection since I clear it anyway). I started the clearing process (after letting the tung oil dry for a day) using the SprayMax 2k pictured earlier. The clear has to be used within 24 hours once activated, so I'll use at least one can today. Slowly but surely...









The left side is oiled, right side is unfinished. The tung oil gives it a great golden color:


After a few coats of clear:
