  • Please help with PS-4 neck

Hey guys, well Im in the market for a new neck.

I want to keep the guitar because of sentimental value and I have upgraded pups and the thing sounds beastly. So please dont advise me to get a new guitar.

    It is a PS-4 (performer) from the late 90's I think 98'.

Now I know this is a low end model. I am looking for a little nicer neck to throw on. Like Pro or old charvel soloist or something pretty nice that plays like butter.

The problem is....I have no idea what neck will fit. I tried to swap out a neck from a dinky and it did not work, so any input or ideas where to find out this info please post.

    thanks

Your first issue is to get the correct number of frets.

Next, scale length needs to be 25 1/2"

(you really otta just get a new guitar )

I don't think Charvel made soloist, and if they did, a soloist is a neck thru so how would that work?

What was the issue with the Dinky neck swap?

The dinky neck just simply did not fit. There was a lip at the very bottom of the fret board that I would have had to cut. Not into Luthery....

24 Frets- Dots preferred, or something fancy. No shark fins please.
