The neck feels great and the guitar doesn't feel cheap in any way. I have the SLX model.

thanks. would you mind posting some pix? all the online stores has frontal view of this guitar. that's it. for example, i read that the body is thinner? also, i'm curious of the contours of the neck joint. does the neck feel like a dkmg or dxmg? or very different?

I haven't played Dkmg or a Dxmg but I have played an RR3 alot and I think the neck is perfect on the SLX. It feels very similar to the RR3 and I guess it's the same neck on the RR3 as on the DK/DXmg.

I have some photos in my NGD thread: http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/126...-New-X-series! but they aren't that good but I'll take more pictures soon and I'll take some good close ups on the neck joint.

thanks, rob, i read your review. i was hoping that others didn't have fret problems. i mean, if others have that problem then yours may not be an exception.

grover js's review is really helpful. i guess the fret job may be a consistent problem. oh well, i couldn't resist and just ordered one. i'll add to that thread's review (and here) if i have something else to say in addition to what has already been stated.

got the guitar for a week now. i can't say enough about the quality and built. mine has none of the problems/issues that the other reviews on this forum said. no rough edges on the edges of the recessed trem cavity, fret wire edges, no paint flaws. i love the intense quilt maple top/veneer.
aside from the stock pickups and the floyd special, this guitar in my opinion is a great guitar.
the action came a bit high for me but not too high. i set it up so a nickle (which is 4/64 thick) won't slide thru under the strings under the 12th fret, which means the action is set at about 3/64 now. and no string buzz so the neck and frets are pretty good.
anyone wanting/thinking about getting one: i highly recommended.

the neck radius and the thin neck heel also makes this guitar very easy to play, esp on the upper frets unlike my charvel model 5, 6, and 5fx.

I had the SLS X MG series guitar, before I sent it back. It was partially damaged in shipping, but more importantly, I would've probably sent it back had it not. Playability was nice, but the fretboard was terrible. Whoever finished it was mad at it.

I have an SLSXMG and I agree there are some finish flaws. Some of that is more noticeable because I have a white one. Also, my frets were good with the exception of one or two, which wasn't an expensive fix.

The binding on the neck is kinda cheap looking on mine... but I've cleaned it up a bit with some fine grit sandpaper. Overall they are solid budget guitars and a great value I think.

You will most likely need to the frets dressed on these though, mine was rough and tearing up my fingers. Also not expensive... or you could do it yourself.

Don't be scared away from them, there are duds out there but overall the impression I've had has been good.
