  • Any help identifying this Jackson?

I happened to mention to my older brother (who has been playing guitar over 20 years) that I wished I had learned to play guitar.

Well a couple weeks ago on my b-day, he surprised me with 2 guitars, as well as a practice amp and some petals! F*** yeah right?!

I'm curious about the Jackson he gave me. I know from the research I have done that it's an import, but I'm so new to guitars that I don't even know what model it is or when it was made.

I found this thread here that seems to identify it as being from 1990.

Here are some pics I took. Any help identifying it will be greatly appreciated

Fusion Pro, made in Japan probably 1990 as you say.

I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

If it is, your brother gave you an awesome guitar to learn on!

        Fusion pro, ok cool.

Sorry for more questions, just so I can know for myself, how can you tell what model it is?

So many of the models looked so similar that I could hardly tell one from the next.

Anyway, thanks for the answers! I'm enjoying the hell out of my b-day gift!

The mini toggle between the pots is a give away in this case. Hang around this place and you'll pick up this stuff pretty quick. Henrik's site is also a great resource (www.audiozone.dk).

It's a Fusion because it's a short 24.75" scale vs. the regular 25.5" scale. A Fusion is always 24 frets and is a bolt on.

The toggle between the tone and volume activates the JE-1500 wah. Pretty much this was only used on Fusions.

The fact that it's a Fusion with Ebony and MOP sharkies makes it a PRO. The next step down os the Fusion XL with a rosewood fretboard.

If that top is not "an exotic flame maple front and back", it is interesting, that the "lower bout scoop" is missing...
