please explain the soloist line?

feeling a tad ignorant here. Something happened to the soloist line-up while I was busy elsewhere. USA select is still the same but there's the X-series which seems suspiciously affordable (first time ever that a soloist is almost within my financial reach, I'm somewhat excited about that and just hoping this will continue) and the SL3 was replaced with archtop models? Could someone just explain the soloist line of products?
