And Another NGD! DX1 PRO (PICS)

Ok.. Got another great deal. It's a 1997 DX1 Professional. It has a Takeuchi (or however you spell it) floyd, normal headstock (non-reversed), binding around neck and head, a DD in the bridge, a Lace sensor in the middle, and some kind of chrome lipstick pickup in the neck (PO said it was a Seymour Duncan also. Something about hot chrome... I couldn't tell, but it sounds bubbly and sweet). 5 way selector.

I had to clean the heck out of it, but she looks and plays great. Neck is flawless with no checking or wood missing, even on the headstock. Body has a few minor dings, with 2 small chips, one on the back, and one on the side (belly area). Nothing major at all. LUCKY ME!!!!

Anyone know anything about these?

That now makes 3 Jacksons, and 1 Charvel. My wife said I was a Jackson Horder..

In your thread title, you say this is a PRO. On this forum I have learned that PRO and Professional are not the same.

PRO is a Professional with all the appointments of a USA axe - ebony, MOP sharkies, etc.

A guitar can be a Professsional like yours but not a PRO. Yours looks like it has a rosewood board, not ebony.

The PRO series ended around 92-94 because it was cutting into sales of USA Jacksons. They started cheapening the Professional line, removing the ebony, MOP sharkies, and even binding on the SL3 line.

Just passing down the knowledge I've learned on this board.

I know.. I saw some threads about the differences after I posted. Mine does have a rosewood fingerboard and is just a Professional. I thought about changing the title for that reason. Why did they call it a 'Professional'? Because of the Duncans?

Don't sweat it, it's not an "official" designation, it's just something a few JCFers decided to come up with, like the "Get The Whole Guitar In The Shot" thing.

And is that a DX-1 or a DK-2? I thought all those older models from the mid-90s always came with the model etched in the trussrod cover?
